Speaking of vibes, these “vibes” are short for “vibrational frequency”-the components of our auras. That’s their aura bumping up against yours, BTW! Just as we get weird, creepy feelings from some people, there are also other people who just kind of exude good vibes-as in, you just sort of feel better after being around them. How many times has your stomach seized, cramped, churned, or flipped in times of emotional distress? This is why! There’s more to vibes than that, though. Yellow, for example, reflects your emotional layer-and the chakra, or energy center, is located below your ribcage and in the center of your stomach. This energy can send, receive, and store info-like an emotional computer-but that information is channeled through our physical bodies, which helps explain the connection between our emotions and our physical responses to them.

And yes, there’s a link between our emotional state, our physical state, and the energy we pass on to others. The energy of aura is also constant, as long as there are other people around-it’s why we can feel physically drained at the end of a highly social day (constantly exchanging energy with everyone we come close to is hard work!). On the other hand, some people tend to slip more easily from memory-their auric fields might be a little more contracted-and that’s not necessarily a bad thing! What about people with a little more charisma, a little more presence? Their aura field might extend out slightly bigger around them. It’s like a broadcasting station for your emotional state, and it’s why you can pick up a certain energy from people not immediately in your presence: Their aura field is out there interacting with yours and those of the people around you.

(And yes, every single human has an aura). Auras extend out from your physical body in seven layers-out to just over three feet or so, which means that your auric field interacts with those of others around you.
